¿Hola como están?

Nuestra amiga Kate dejo el centro el día de ayer. Ya les avía comentado que partía para  Canadá con el propósito  de seguir estudiando. Quiero comentarles que el propósito que tiene es especial ya que se especializara en lingüística, con el propósito de  traducir en otros idiomas que todavía no son traducidos, esto es una labor que no cualquiera puede realizar, ya que requiere de mucha practica y esfuerzo, la extrañaremos mucha ya que ella nos ayudó mucho a el Day Worker Center, le deseamos que Dios la bendiga y que le de sabiduría para esta etapa que ha empezado en su nueva carrera, sabemos que halos que sirven a Dios todo les va bien, el  tiempo que la conocí la mire como una persona que todo lo que emprende le va bien, y se que en este nueva etapa de su vida le ira súper bien. Dios la bendiga.

  Sábado es un día muy ocupado en el Day Worker Center, todos esperamos trabajar este día, todos estamos de buen animo y contentos, algunos ya terminaron sus clases de gimnasia, otros ya empezaron sus clases de alfabetización y ya pronto empezaran las clases de defensa personal, en el centro siempre tenemos cosas que hacer, se siente bien estar en Day Worker Center. Tengan un feliz fin de semana largo

¿Hola como están?

Hi how are you guys doing?

Our friend Kate left the center yesterday. I’ve already told you guys that she was leaving for Canada to continue her studies. I want to add that the reason she’s going back to school is special, since she is going to specialize in linguistics, in particular in translating languages that haven’t been translated yet. This is work that not just anyone can do, since it requires much practice and effort. We will miss her a lot, she helped us a lot at the Day Worker Center. May God bless her and give her wisdom for this new step in her career, we know that those who serve God do well. In the time that I knew her I could tell she was a person who does well in whatever task they undertake, and I know she will do wonderfully in this new stage of her life. God bless her.

Saturday is a very busy day at the Day Worker Center. We all hope to work that day, and are all content and in a good mood. Some have already finished their gym classes, others have started their literacy classes, and soon there will be a personal defense class. At the center we always have things to do, and it feels good to be there at the DWC. Have a happy long weekend.

¿Hola como están?

¡Que feo se escucha la palabra morir!  Pero desafortunadamente algún día tiene que pasar, no importa la edad, seas niño, joven, adulto o  anciano.Todos tenemos que enfrentarnos a esa realidad, tarde o temprano tiene que pasar. Mi amigo por ejemplo. Fuimos  de vacaciones juntos, la pasamos bien con nuestros demás amigos, se miraba muy contento, se la paso súper bien, pero él no savia que tenía una cita con la muerte, mucho menos nosotros. El día que regresamos de nuestra vacaciones todos nos despedimos con alegría y asiendo planes para nuestras próximas vacaciones. Pero el día siguiente sucedido la desgracia. El y otros amigos salieron, a la librería por unas cosas que necesitaban para el curso que estaba a punto de comenzar, al parecer el conductor del carro iba conduciendo a alta velocidad y perdió el control del volante y se estrelló en un poste de luz, el cual cayó al lado  derecho, donde está la puerta del pasajero de atrás, matando a mi amigo al instante, que tragedia, nadie se esperaba eso, pobre de la mama lloro tanto, que lastima nos dio a todos el día de el funeral, nuestro amigo con el que pasamos muchos momentos agradables se había muerto, fue difícil para todos ya no verlo más en la escuela. Que rápido se va la vida, cuando menos lo esperas viene como ladrón sin avisar, en cualquier momento puede suceder es una ley de la vida nadie tiene la vida comprada terde que temprano tiene que pasar, es inebitable.

Hi how are you guys doing?

It’s horrible to hear the word “death”. But unfortunately one day it must happen, no matter one’s age, whether you’re a child, teenager, adult, or elder. We all have to face the reality that sooner or later it will happen. My friend for example: we went on vacation together, and had a good time with the rest of our friends. He looked very happy, he had an amazing time, but he didn’t know that he had an appointment with death much sooner than the rest of us. The day that we came back from our vacation we all say our goodbyes cheerfully and made plans for our next vacation. But the next day, the tragedy happened. He and some other friends went out to the bookstore for some things that they needed for a class that was about to begin. Apparently the driver of the car was driving too fast, and he lost control of the wheel. The car crashed into a lamppost, against the right side, where the rear passenger door is, and killed my friend instantly. What a tragedy, nobody was expecting it. His poor mother cried so much, and we felt horrible for her the day of the funeral. Our friend with whom we had had so many wonderful moments had died. It was difficult for all of us to not seen him anymore in school. Life can end so quickly. When you least expect it, it comes like a thief without warning, in any moment it can happen. It’s a law of life that nothing in life is for sure. Sooner or later it must happen, it’s unescapable.

¿Hola como están?

Lunes 23 de mayo. Ya pasaron 2 días y el mundo no se acabo. Supuestamente hubo unos por allí  estaban diciendo que el mundo acabaría el 21 de mayo, que mentira. Como es posible que una persona gaste tanto dinero por hacer  tanta publicidad en una mentira, de donde sacaron esa información como fue que a esta persona se le ocurrió decir semejante cosa, gente espantada por esa mentira. Gente se pregunto y si de verdad pasara, incluso tuve amigos que me dijeron que ya se habían arrepentido por sus pecados, porque pensaban que iban a morir ¡que barbaro no!   Bueno cada loco con su tema ¿verdad?

Este día la directora Del Day Worker Center, regresó de sus vacaciones de México se le mira muy relajada y contenta, que bien por ella. Hace unos días atrás los niños de una escuela primaria vinieron de visita a Day Worker Center con el fin de conocer las instalaciones, aproximada mente llegaron como 30 infantes deseosos de escuchar historia de los trabajadores del centro. Estuvieron muy contentos ya que todos participaron en preguntas y respuestas de parte de los trabajadores. Qué bueno es ver a la próxima generación interesada en aprender cosas de los trabajadores del Centro. Y como muestra de nuestro agradecimiento Day Worker Center quiere agradecerles visitando su escuela para hacer cualquier tipo de trabajo que la escuela necesite como gratitud a su visita a nuestro Centro. Gracias a los maestros por tomar su tiempo y visitarnos

Hi how are you doing?

Monday, May 23^rd. Two days later and the world hasn’t ended. Supposedly there were some people saying that the world would end on May 21, what a sham. How is it possible that a person could spend so much money to publicize a lie? Where did they get that idea, how could someone say such a thing? People were scared by this lie. People asked themselves what if it did happen. I even had friends who told me that they’d repented of their sins, because they thought they were going to die. Crazy, no? Well, to each their own, right?

Today the director of the Day Worker Center returned from her vacation in Mexico. She looks very relaxed and happy, and good for her. A few days ago kids from an elementary school came to visit the DWC to see the building. About 30 kids came, wanting to hear the stories of the center’s workers. They were very happy since the workers all participated in the questions and answers. It’s great to see the next generation interested in learning things from the DWC’s workers. And to show our appreciation, the DWC wants to visit their school to do whatever kind of work that the school needs, as a thank you for their visit. Thanks to the teachers for taking the time to visit us.

¿Hola como están?

Hace unos días fui a trabajar con un americano. Muy buena onda el güero. Quedo muy contento con el trabajo que le estaba asiendo, por cierto nos llevo a un restaurante donde hacen unos tacos súper deliciosos, que ricos tacos caray. Todas las personas con las que he trabajado han sido en su mayoría blancos y me han tratado muy bien, han quedado muy complacidos con el trabajo que les he hecho. Pero quiero comentar que algo desagradable que paso. Estaban dos personas fumando  en la casa siguiente y pare sorpresa nuestra empezaron a decirnos espaldas mojadas sin siquiera tener conocimiento de lo que estaba ablando, se comenzaron burlar de nosotros, es primera vez  después de tanto tiempo en este hermoso país, 20 años para ser exactos, que alguien me critique por el color de piel o de mi apariencia, o como visto. Solo porque nosotros hacemos ese tipo de  trabajo, tienen derecho a insultarnos a creer que somos gente que no vale, piensan que siempre estamos asiendo cosas malas. Pero no es así, todos estos años que he estado en este maravilloso país, siempre he trabajado desde que tenía 16 años cuando yo llegue a este país, sin familia, sin amigos, trabajando duro para poder pagar mis cuentas, día tras día para tener un futuro que en mi país no lo tuve. Lo que paso en mi vida después eso ya fue por cuenta mía.  Con todo respeto y humildad no trato de ofender a nadie. Gracias

Hi how are you guys doing?

A few days ago I went to work for an American. Really great guy. He was very happy with the work that we were doing for him. On a side note he took us to a restaurant where they make amazing tacos, really delicious tacos. All the people that I’ve worked with have been mainly white and have treated me very well. They’ve been very satisfied with the jobs I’ve done. But I want to mention something unpleasant that happened. There were two people smoking in front of the next house over, and to our surprise they began to call us “wetbacks”. Without even knowing what they were talking about they started to make fun of us. It was the first time after so many years in this wonderful country, twenty years to be exact, that someone criticized me for my skin color, or my appearance, or how I dress. Just because we do this kind of work, they think they have the right to insult us, believe that we’re worthless, think that we’re always up to something bad. But it’s not like that. In all these years that I’ve been in this amazing country, I have worked–since I was sixteen when I arrived, without family, without friends. I worked hard to be able to pay the bills, day after day to have a future that in my home country I didn’t have. What happened in my life after that is on me. With complete respect and humility I don’t mean to offend anyone. Thank you.

En memoria a la pérdida

Hola  ¿Cómo están?

Quiero comentarles que nuestra compañera y amiga María Marroquín y representante de Day Worker Center. Hace unas semanas atrás, tuvo la desgracia de perder a su querida mama. Para todos los que por desgracia hemos pasado por esa terrible experiencia, sabemos lo que se siente perder a lo mas hermoso que tememos en esta vida, se vienen a la memoria tantas cosas, recuerdos de nuestra infancia que pasamos con ella, momentos graciosos que vivimos, regaños, una que otra vez unos cinturonasos, son tantas emocione encontradas. No volver a ver su sonrisa, no mirar su cara, no escuchar su vos, no mas consejos, no sentir sus abrazos mas, ¡Dios mío porque se tienen que ir lo que más amamos!

El día de ayer se celebro  una misa en honor y en memoria de la mama de María, esto fue en la iglesia san Joseph de mountain view, fue emotivo escuchar a las personas que la conocieron, se expresaron de ella con respeto, una anécdota que uno de ellos dijo. Pasó en el cumpleaños de María.  La señora escucho a alguien que digo malas palabras y ella comento que boquita de ese hombre sin pena a que la escucharan, pero en lo que si estuvieron de acuerdo es que la señora fue una persona muy agradable y amistosa.

Quiero expresar mis condolencias, a todas a aquellas personas que han perdido a sus hermosas madres

In memory

Hi how are you guys doing?

I want to talk to you guys about our friend and director of the Day Worker Center, Maria Marroquin. A few weeks ago she had the misfortune of losing her beloved mother. For all of us who have unfortunately had this happen to us, we know what it feels like to lose the most beautiful thing in our lives. So many memories come up, memories of our childhood with her, moments that made us laugh, scoldings, from time to time a beating. There are so many different feelings. To never see her smile again, never see her face, hear her voice, get her advice, feel her arms around us–why do those we love most have to leave?

Yesterday a mass was held in the honor and memory of Maria’s mother in the church Saint Joseph in Mountain View. It was moving to hear from people who knew her. They spoke very well of her. There was one anecdote someone told about her. It was Maria’s birthday. Her mother heard someone saying some bad words, and she commented “what a mouth that man has” without caring that anyone heard her. But what everyone did agree is that she was a very pleasant and friendly person.

I want to express my condolences to all those who have lost their wonderful mothers.

Hoy es primer día de clases para el examen de (G.E.D)

Estoy emocionado ya que me siento como el primer día que regrese a la escuela después de unas vacaciones. (Aunque eso pasó hace muchas lunas.) Nuestra maestra Kate, dio la clase de literatura, y escritura, después de tanto  tiempo sin tomar estudios de ninguna cosa es difícil hacer andar tu memoria tan fácil, pero como digo alguien por allí, todo para adelante y hada para atrás, ¿lo que bien se aprende nunca se olvida verdad? espero que en unos meses pueda tener mi diploma de (G.E.D) para tomar un carrera técnica o por qué no, entrar a el colegio. Gracias a Day Worker Center por esta oportunidad que me han dado para completar mis estudios de preparatoria

Hey how’s everyone doing?

Today is the first day of GED classes.

I’m excited, I feel as if it’s the first day of school coming back from vacation (although that happened a long time ago.) Our teacher Kate is teaching the literature and writing classes. After so much time not doing any kind of studying, it’s difficult to make your memory start working again. But like someone once said, what’s done is done, only the future lies ahead. You never forget what you’ve learned well, right? I hope that in these coming months I will able to obtain my GED diploma to be able to find a technical/vocational job, or, why not, go back to school. Thank you to the Day Worker Center for giving me this opportunity to finish my high school studies.

Que  terrible es tener un dolor de dientes es lo más feo que hay, es desesperante.

 Hace unos días  tenía un dolor en toda la dentadura y hoy que fui al dentista recibí la noticia que estoy perdiendo toda la dentadura por los problemas que tuve en el  pasado por mi enfermedad que tenia, eso lo llamo lo que uno siembras eso cosechas.

 Ayer estuve texteando con mi hermana y  sobrino, (¡verdad!)que las comunicaciones han tenido un incremento extraordinario en esta última década, recuerdo que ese apenas unos años atrás no teníamos esta maravilla de  cosas que hoy tenemos, por ejemplo el internet, el celular, las computadoras no estaban tan avanzadas como hoy en día, la ciencia ha dado unos pasos extremadamente grandes, cosas que entes  no podíamos hacer en público hoy se ven comunes y corrientes, todo ha cambiado los jóvenes matándose unos en contra de otros por un color, niños siendo abusados , física, sexual y sicológicamente. ¿Qué está pasando en este mundo porque a crecido tanto el mal? Te has puesto a pensar que pasara con nuestros niños, y jóvenes,  que futuro les espera. ¿Abra futuro para nuestros niños? Piensa que vas hacer para detener todo esto

Hi how are you doing?

It’s horrible to have a toothache, it’s the most unpleasant thing ever, it’s exasperating.

A few days ago my mouth was in pain and today I went to the dentist. I received the news that I’m losing my teeth because of problems that I had in the past due to my illness. That I call reaping what one sows.

Yesterday I was texting with my sister and nephew about how communication technology has improved an extraordinary amount in just this last decade (so true!). I remember that just a few years ago we didn’t have all the amazing things we have now. For example, the internet, cellphones. Computers weren’t as advanced as they are now, science has taken some enormous steps, things that before we couldn’t do publicly are today completely ordinary. Everything has changed, young people killing each other because of a color, children being abused physically, sexually, and psychologically. What is happening in the world, why has evil grown so much? Have you stopped to think about what will happen with our children and young adults and what future awaits them? Will there be a future for our children? Think about what you’re going to do to stop all this.

Hola como están

Hoy quiero contarles algo de mi, y como a cambiado mi vida en estos dos últimos yrs

Hace dos yrs atrás, yo estaba completamente enviciado en el alcolismo y la drogadicción, por mucho tiempo estuve viviendo esa vida de enfermedad y destrucción, en ese tiempo llegue a-pesar  99 libras. Pero un día cambiaron las cosas y decidí venir a esta hermosa ciudad donde entre a una casa de recuperación o un centro de rehabilitación para personas con el problema que yo tenia. En esta día que estoy escribiendo este blog ya son casi tres yrs que estoy en ese lugar y puedo decirles que estoy completamente rehabilitado de mi problema con las drogas y el alcoholismo, puedo decirles que mi salud a mejorado por completo, en estos momentos tengo un peso de 135 libras . Tengo 5 meses llegando a Day Worker Center. Y en este lugar e aprendido cosas que entes no savia que podía hacer, por ejemplo estos blogs, eh tomado clases de C,P,R, graduado en primeros auxilios, computación, e ingles como segundo idioma, cosas que entes no savia ahora las puedo desarrollar y poner en practica

Bueno creo que es todo por hoy, espero que puedan ver como un hombre a-fuerza de carácter pudo superar los obstáculos que tenia.

Something personal

Hi how are you doing?

Today I want to tell you guys something about myself, and how my life has changed in the last two years.

Two years ago, I was completely entangled in alcoholism and drug addiction. For  a long time I lived a life of sickness and destruction. In that time my weight dropped to 99 pounds. But one day things changed and I decided to come to this amazing city where I entered a rehabilitation center for people with problems like mine. Today as I write it has been almost three years that I have been at that place, and can say that I have completely recovered from my problems with drugs and alcohol. I can tell you that my health has improved totally, at the moment I weigh 135 pounds. I have been going to the Day Worker Center for 5 months. And at this place I have learned things that before I didn’t know I was able to do. For example–this blog, CPR classes, first aid, computer skills, and English as a second language. Things that before I didn’t know how to do I can now work on and put into practice.

Anyways, I think that’s it for today, I hope you could see how through strength of character a man was able to overcome his obstacles.

Estamos muy emocionados  por comenzar un proyecto nuevo en day worker center

 Trataremos  de completar nuestra educacion secundaria y preparatoria  (G,E,D)  que muchos de nosotros no tuvimos la oportunidad de terminar  en nuestro paise de origen. Todos estamos emocionados por que comiencen nuestras clases , nuestra amiga y companera Kate y voluntarios nos estan ayudando a que este sueno se haga realidad para todos los que vamos a toma esta clase. La II primeras clases que tomaremos son matematicas,  literatura y escritura . Esperamos poder aprender todo lo que se nos ensene para poder pasar todos lo examenes cundo completemos todas las materias

We are very excited to begin a new project at the day worker center.

We are going to try to complete our middle school and high school educations, since many of us did not have the opportunity to do this in our home countries. We are all excited because the classes are beginning. Our friend and companera Kate and the volunteers are helping to make this dream a reality for all of use who will take this class. The first two classes we are going to take are math, and then literature and writing. We hope to learn everything that is taught so that we can pass all the tests afterwards.
